Stuart Douglas Shelly, 76, died, February 21, 2024, at the Eleanor A. Koons Hospice House in Easton due to complications from Parkinson’s disease with dementia.

Stu was a son of the late Raymond H. Shelly & the late Isabelle Jarrett Shelly. Born in Cambridge, May 28, 1947,

Stu grew up in Dorchester County, attended schools in Cambridge & graduated from Cambridge High School in 1966. A veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, Stu was drafted in October 1966. He served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam and was discharged in September 1969. Upon his return to civilian life, he started his working career with C&P Telephone & retired from Verizon in 2003.

Stu was an avid sportsman with a passion for sporting clays. He shot competition clays at local, regional & national venues. Shooting skeet & trap was also a favorite pastime. He also enjoyed deer, dove & rabbit hunting, as well as fishing & crabbing. He held memberships with the Cambridge Skeet Club, Talbot Rod & Gun Club, and the National Sporting Clay Association.

He is survived by his wife, Bambi Willey Shelly & children, Crystal McNamara (Jake) of Boise, Idaho, Sarah Kennedy (Kelly) of Trappe & Adam Corkran (Alison) of Cambridge. Grandchildren, Julia McNamara, Connor McNamara, Lane Kennedy, Hunter Kennedy, Emery Kennedy, Garrett Kennedy, Ryleigh Corkran and Luke Cherry & Beau Cherry. His brother & sister in-law, Sam & Susan Shelly of East New Market & their children Lisa Shelly Parks & Adam Shelly, also, brother in-laws Guy Willey, Jr. & Robbie Willey of Cambridge, & sister in-law & her husband, Tracy Willey Hill & Ian Hogg of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and an uncle, Jay Jarrett of Poteau, Oklahoma.

Stu was predeceased by a brother, Ray Shelly.

At Stu’s request he will be cremated & there will be no service.
