Theresa Helen Juras, 97, of East New Market passed away peacefully Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Mallard Bay Care Center, Cambridge.
Born April 27, 1916 in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late John and Lena Tobat Juras.
She was four yrs. old when her family moved from Baltimore to the Eastern Shore. After attending local schools and graduating, Theresa attended Our Lady of Angels Convent in Pennsylvania and Newman College in Glen Riddle, PA.
She was a life time parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Secretary, MD. Worshiping The Lord was a big part of her life. Theresa owed her longevity to keeping the faith.
Theresa worked at the Secretary Post Office as a postal clerk for 32 yrs. before retiring in 1982.
Surviving her are five sisters, Mary Juras of East New Market, MD, Florence Tacchetti of Abington, MD, Lillian Juras of Wilmington, DE, Loretta Juras of Wilmington, DE and Sister Irene Juras, OSF of Ashton, PA.; two nieces Barbara Rumbley and Rosemary Robbins; four nephews Dominic Tacchetti, Jr., Victor Tacchetti, Timothy Tacchetti and William Rumbley, Jr.
Preceding her in death besides her parents was a brother, Bro. Leonard Juras, OSF and a sister Regina Rumbley.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 22, 2013 beginning 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Secretary, MD. Family will receive friends on Wednesday evening at the church from 6-8 p.m. with the Rosary at 7 p.m. and an hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Rev Stephen C. Lonek and Rev. Anthony Greco . Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Theresa's family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Theresa may be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, P.O. Box 279, Secretary, MD 21664.
Arrangements entrusted to Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge.
