Tracie Leigh Whiteley

Tracie Leigh Whiteley, born on October 18, 1967, in Easton, Maryland, entered her eternal rest on November 15, 2025, at Talbot Hospice in Easton, surrounded by family and friends who had the privilege of sharing moments with her in her final days. She was a beacon of light, cherished for her infectious smile and unwavering spirit.

Tracie's journey through life was marked by her vibrant personality and strong sense of community. She graduated from Easton High School with the Class of 1985 and held a life-long friendship with them. She continued her education at Chesapeake College, where she earned an Associates Degree in 1994. Her scholarly pursuits culminated in a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from Wilmington College in 2004. Tracie's commitment to personal growth and her profession shone brightly during her career as the manager of Portside Seafood Restaurant, where she became a beloved figure among staff and patrons alike.

Tracie was known for her boundless compassion and willingness to lend a helping hand. Her friends often sought her out, knowing they would find not only an attentive ear but also an advocate for what was right. Her ability to listen patiently and offer advice enriched the lives of many, fostering deep and meaningful connections.

A proud member of the Grand National Waterfowl Association and the past treasurer of the East New Market Volunteer Fire Department, Tracie dedicated herself to serving her community with enthusiasm and grace. She also held a cherished membership at St. Marks Methodist Church in Easton, MD, where her spirit resonated with a love for helping others.

The memories of Tracie will be held dear by her life partner, Eddie D. Hayden, Jr., along with his parents, Yumiko and Edward “Pete” Hayden, and their extended family. Her father, Allen Lee Whiteley and his wife Elizabeth, and her step-father, Steve Langrell, will also carry her spirit in their hearts. She is survived by her Uncle Rocky Ainsworth and his wife Kim, Aunt Jenny Harrison and her husband Skippy, Aunt Donna Ainsworth, and Cousin Jason Ainsworth and Alexa Walker. In addition, Tracie leaves behind several other aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who loved her dearly.

Sadly, she was preceded in death by her mother, Lynn Carol Ainsworth Whiteley, her grandparents, H.L. "Sonny" Whiteley and Rosalena "Nookie" Whiteley, Harry and Doris Ainsworth, her uncle Gary Ainsworth, and Cousin Michelle Ainsworth.

Tracie had a remarkable gift for forging deep friendships; her bonds with Marcia, Shelly, Shannon, and Kris, cherished lifelong friends, showcased the loyalty that defined her character. She was also affectionately known as "Mom" to all her "Pumpkins" (IYKYK) – a testament to the love and the joy she brought to those around her.

Tracie's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her.

A visitation will be held on November 22, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Open Bible Church in Cambridge, MD, followed by a funeral service. She will then be laid to rest at East New Market Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held immediately following the burial at Porstside Seafood Restaurant on Trenton St., Cambridge.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Hayden, Brian Turner, Jen Oberender, Andy Blake, Cody Lewis, Rocky Ainsworth, Joseph Hayden and Skippy Harrison.

Honorary pallbearer will be Steve Langrell.

As we reflect on Tracie's life, we celebrate her passion for kindness, her dedication to her loved ones, and her cherished memories that will forever resonate with those fortunate enough to have known her. Her legacy of love and friendship will continue to inspire others to lend a helping hand, just as she always did.
