Obituary

Barbara Anne Dalrymple, 81 died Friday, June 25, 2021 at her home in the Neck District.

Born June 10, 1940 in Washington, D.C. she was the daughter of the late Harold K. Beck and Dorothy B. Beck.

In 1974 she married James C. Dalrymple.

Barbara and her husband lived in the Gaithersburg area and in the early 1970’s purchased a summer home in Woolford, MD.  In the early 1980’s they moved to their home at Hills Point in Cambridge.

She was an avid outdoorswoman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and crabbing with her late husband.

Barbara was very active in Dorchester County.  She was chosen to represent the County at the 2006 Maryland You Are Beautiful recognition ceremony in Baltimore.  She participated and chaired several key events in Dorchester County and was recognized as giving countless volunteer hours, unselfish time, dedication and energy that inspired many.  Some of her activities were the Seafood Feast-I Val, Bay Country Festival, Dorchester General Hospital and Pleasant Day Adult Care Center.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held in the future.

In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made in Mrs. Dalrymple’s memory to the Baywater Animal Rescue , St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Pleasant Day Adult Care Center.
