Barbara Insley

Barbara Dean Insley, 74, of Cambridge, formerly of Fishing Creek passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at UMSMC at Easton.

Born November 6, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Mary Parks Dean Jaglowski and Milton Watkins Dean, Sr.

Barbara attended Hoopers Island Elementary and graduated from South Dorchester High with the Class of 1963.

She attended Chesapeake College and worked for the City of Cambridge and Western Publishing. She spent her working years as full-charge bookkeeper and other administrative positions

Nothing brought Barbara more joy than spending time with her grandchildren. She spent many hours babysitting them as they grew.

Barbara always loved dancing, particularly line dancing. She and her friends would enjoy dancing to the local bands.

Surviving is one son David Allen and wife Mandy of Cambridge; three grandchildren William Spencer, Logan Ryan and Paige Elizabeth.

She is also survived by a special brother, Milton (Mickey) Dean, Jr., who was always available for moral support.

Also surviving are special friends Renee and Richard Merritt who helped her in every way possible.

Preceding her in death is a son William W. Insley, Jr., who died at the age of two days; step-father Benjamin Jaglowski and brother in law Odus Moore.

Also surviving are three additional siblings; John (Tommy) Dean (Jenna) of Evergreen Colorado, Elanie Drain (Jim) of Bear, De. and Mildred Moore of Cambridge.

A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 beginning 11:00am at Dorchester Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Arrick officiating.

In lieu of flowers it was Barbara’s wishes that any memorial donation be made to either the Spinda Bifida Association of the Mid-Atlantic Region or National Human Genome Research Institute, National Institutes of Health Building 4B09, 31 Center Drive, MSC 2152 900 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20892-2152
