Ruth Marie Jones, 60, of Cambridge passed away Monday evening, January 27, 2020 at UMSMC@Dorchester.

Born August 24, 1959 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Theodore Mortimer “Buddy” Jones and  Anna “Luray” Hughes Jones.  She attended the local Cambridge schools. Ruth had worked at Black and Decker in Easton for over 10 years and was very disappointed when it closed.  Afterwards she worked as a cashier at Lowe’s before retiring for medical reasons.

Ruth loved her animals. She had a kind heart for dogs and cats in particular. She was an avid knitter and had made blankets for all the young children. Ruth enjoyed scrap booking, fishing and electronic solitaire. For years she was a member of the Salvation Army Women’s Group. Ruth was always available for helping her family.

Surviving is her daughter Mindy Greenhawk (Brian); son Brian Adam Jones;  four adopted children, Dorian Peddicord, Mary Jane Buckler, Scarlet and Daniel Merritt; siblings Peggy Jones, Theodore Jones Jr. (Donna); Lillian Wood (John), Aleta Jones, Jonathan Jones and Steven Jones; grandchildren Troy “Phillip” Paul, Jr.(Katelyn),  Matthew Paul, Brian “Sean” Greenhawk, Jr., Megan Greenhawk, Brian Adam “AJ” Jones, Jr., Stephanie Jones, Anna Gail Jones, Patrick Jones, Stephany Anderson, Lily Anderson  and Megan Anderson; great-grandchildren Ella Rose Paul, Eli Samuel Paul, Myah Johnson, Sophia Anderson and Issac Yapp along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding her in death besides her parents were two sisters Linda Jones and Christine Jones.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2020 beginning 1:00 pm at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Lt. Wendy and Bo Parsons and Major Lori and Brook Gilliam. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery,
